" 'Glades" is a fiber art piece conveying a sense of place. The Everglades is a magnificent eco-system, with a few remnant swamps in Florida. This is my impression of the density of life in the 'Glades, and the fascinating lines and shapes everywhere. I used both sheer and opaque fabrics, that help create a sense of depth in this piece. Many of the leaves curl out and away from the flat surface, giving a three dimensional quality to the art.
