"Organic Shapes VIII" is a lovely misty gray green silk charmeuse that has been hand marbled by Laura Sims. I stitched it in response to the underlying design of organic shapes and color gradations. Once stitched, I then cut it apart, and pieced it together again, reversing the process usually taken in creating a quilt.

This piece is matted and elegantly framed with archival quality materials without glass so the tactile quality of the fiber is maintained. The combination of the stitched fiber, mat and frame create an elegant, unified composition. It reflects the serenity and beauty I seek in life.

Like a painting, it is reasonably sturdy. It will last for years with a little care. Simply gently dust it once in a while, and hang it out of direct sunlight. It will add a gentle peacefulness wherever it is hung.
