"Organic Shapes V"
19" x 15"

Detail of work
"Organic Shapes V" captures a swirling design from nature. A swirl can be seen in sea shells,
a fern opening, and in the Milky Way. I see this design as a reflection of the hand of God in creating the world.
This piece was exhibited in Fiber Celebration Convergence, 2002, and was selected as the visual image for their
promotional materials. An artist saw it and wrote, "I love the subtlety of color, the swirls, the detail of the stitches
and beading, the rhythm, the movement; they transcend!"
This hand marbled silk is hand stitched and beaded, and mounted on stretcher bars for a beautiful presentation
as well as simplicity in hanging it. Like a painting, it is reasonably sturdy. It will last for years with a little care.
Simply gently dust it once in a while, and hang it out of direct sunlight. It will bring beauty wherever it is hung.
