"Cone Flower, Queen of the Prairie"
25.5" x 31"

The inspiration for this quilt came from me responding to the graceful, elongated petals of a pale purple cone flower, swaying in the summer breeze. I was inspired to capture it in an art quilt. In some ways, this is a spiritual quilt for me, for when I see something as beautiful as a cone flower, I know all is right with God.

The quilt has been on the cover of "The Professional Quilter", and the Missouri Prairie Journal." It has won several awards, and has been chosen as viewers choice. A representative of the National Park Service contacted me to exhibit the quilt in the summer of 2005 as part of a Lewis and Clark Expedition display.

The Cone Flower quilt would be a focal point any place where it is displayed. Textiles, by their very nature, soften an environment, absorb sound and lend beauty. It would be a beautiful addition to a home, office, lobby of a commercial or health care establishment. It can be hung from a concealed rod, or encased in lucite, at the buyer's cost.

This wall hanging takes the same kind of care as does a painting. Dust lightly occasionally, and keep it out of direct light. It will look wonderful for many years.
